Virgilio Mazzocchi

Virgilio Mazzocchi was a local of Civita Castellana and began his profession as a cathedral musician in the cathedral there; along with his brother’s help he relocated to Rome and by 1629 he was leading the Capella Giulia at St. Peter’s Cathedral. Furthermore to employed in the courtroom of Cardinal Barberini, Mazzocchi constructed operas and taken care of his placement at St. Peter’s until his early loss of life at age group 49 in 1646.
