Virgil Moorefield

Virgil Moorefield was created in NEW YORK and raised in Italy, Germany, and Switzerland. He started his career being a composer, settling in NY after getting his B.A. and M.A. in 1979 from Columbia University or college. Moorefield’s first recording, Transformations, was documented with his music group, Equal Character, and released in 1983. His second recording, Bhopal, made an appearance in 1986. He led a nine-piece ensemble (three guitars, two saxophones, trumpet, trombone, bass, and drums) on his 1994 Cuneiform Compact disc, Distractions on the path to the King’s Party. Moorefield offers played acoustic guitar with composer Glenn Branca, whose ensemble he performed in after 1987, and was drummer for Swans. Moorefield offers used hardcore punk rings K-Martians and Harm. His sound rating commissions include considerable work with movie director Theodora Skiptares.
