Vinegar Joe

Biography

Vinegar Joe may very easily have already been Isle Records’ response to the Allman Bros. or Moist Willie. A sextet produced away from a busted big-band rock and roll outfit known as Dada, these were brought jointly on the recommendation of Isle creator Chris Blackwell. Elkie Brooks (vocals), Robert Palmer (vocals, electric guitar), Pete Gage (guitars, piano), and Steve York (bass, harmonica), had been at the primary of the group, with Tim Hinkley and Mike Deacon on keyboards, and Conrad Isadore and Keef Hartley, and John Woods and Pete Gavin on drums–the music group lower three albums for between 1971 and 1973. Their concert events were well evaluated and fascinated significant viewers in Britain, but this is never reflected within their record product sales. They split in 1973, with Robert Palmer getting an international superstar being a pop-rock blue-eyed spirit vocalist and Elkie Brooks successful as an MOR vocalist with Pete Gage as her arranger.
