Vila Isabel

Founded like a Carnaval bloco by Antônio Fernandes da Silveira, Azul e Branco de Vila Isabel, within the Carnaval of 1947 it became a samba classes, Unidos da Vila Isabel. Very little successful within the annual competition, the samba college continues to be taking part in its three divisions. In 1956 it had been advertised for the 1st one after earning the next place with “Três Épocas”. In 1960, obtaining the first host to the 3rd group with “Poeta dos Escravos” it had been promoted for the next one. Five years later on the institution ascended for the very first group once again with “Epopéia perform Teatro Municipal”, with which it received the next place. Vila Isabel finally received the tournament in 1988, with “Kizomba — Festa da Raça” (Rodolfo/Jonas/Luiz Carlos), a storyline (enredo) by Martinho da Vila, the school’s primary composer because the mid-60’s.
