Biography
With older brother Lee Jones having liked a warm reception to his debut album as Hefner for well known West London imprint Inertia, Russ Jones certainly had his work cut out to make a splash along with his own full-length for the same label. The starting “Attempting,” from his Musings of Monsieur Malloy debut, typified his sound — acquiring influences as varied as Duke Ellington to Joni Mitchell to conjure soundtracks for the millennial beatnik — where beats discovered themselves hung seamlessly from breathtaking atmospheres as details of strings tethered loosely described instrumentation towards the groove.
