Vicente Martin y Soler

The early many years of Martin y Soler were spent in Valencia where he discovered music in the Iglesia Mayor like a choirboy. His dad was a tenor in the chapel in Valencia. Although date is unfamiliar, Vicente relocated to Madrid; his 1st opera, “La Madrilena, o Teacher burlado,” premiered in 1776. By 1780 he kept office with the near future ruler of Spain, Charles VI. By 1785 he previously relocated to Vienna where he loved the patronage of Joseph II and made up his most succesful opera “Una cosa rara.” Catherine II commissioned Martin y Soler to compose a Russian opera and, appropriately, he visited St Petersburg. By 1790 he previously received a agreement to compose operas in Italian and Russian also to educate performing for the royal theater. In 1794 he resolved in London and then travel once more to St Petersburg to teaching in the royal theater; by 1800 he was the inspector from the Italian courtroom theatre beneath the reign of Paul I. Several tunes from his operas had been adapted in several dialects including French, German, Spanish, British, Dutch, Hungarian, Polish and Russian.
