Vert

Vert may be the name that England’s Adam Butler offers his musical tasks. Butler’s music can be rife using the theoretical underpinnings common in digital music’s glitch picture, not only is it texturally thick with post-Autechre digesting. But a solid melodic sensibility models Vert aside. Because his music is normally listenable and instantly engaging, Vert continues to be a good starting place for those interested in the abstract part from the Idm formula. The very first Vert launch was a jungle-inspired 12″ known as Broken Breakbeat Bebop, released on the label known as Bovinyl that Butler began with Tim Gould (aka Milky Boy) and Andrew Coleman (of Pets on Tires). In 1999, Butler discovered kindred spirits at Sonig, the label began by Germany’s Mouse on Mars. He released a 12″ known as Mewantemooseic there in 1999, and adopted it with a remarkable deconstruction of Keith Jarrett’s canonical The Köln Concert (which Vert entitled The Köln Konzert) in 2000. In 2001, Vert released another 12″ on Sonig known as Moremooseicforme, along with the varied and superb Nine Varieties of Ambiguity. An effective 2001 tour starting for Mouse on Mars discovered Vert sometimes collaborating using the band on-stage.
