This female soul group from Chicago, Illinois, USA, comprised Theresa Legg, Viola Floyd, Kathleen Spates and Vera Regulus. They created the group in 1961, in the summertime before they came into Marshall SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL. The Versalettes had been found out in 1963 by Larry Steele, and had been quickly recorded for the neighborhood Witch/Cortland label complicated. Before getting into the studio room recordings, the Versalettes added another member, Helen Greenfield. The group’s 1st record, ‘Glowing Shield’ (1963), was something of an area phenomenon.
