Venom P. Stinger

Playing unconventional avant-garde music to a solid live audience, Melbourne strap Venom P. Stinger released their debut recording, Meet MY PAL Venom, in January 1987. Totally uncompromising and uncommercial, it had been accompanied by the similarly uncompromising solitary, “Strolling About”/”26 Milligrams,” in July 1988. Guitarist Mick Turner remaining to re-form the music group Fungus Brains for his or her 1989 recording I’m So Pleased, until Turner, bassist Alan Secher-Jensen, drummer Jim White colored, and new vocalist Nick Palmer re-formed Venom P. Stinger in 1991. Their second recording, What’s Yours Is definitely Mine, premiered in Oct 1990 accompanied by the four-track EP Waiting around Area in November 1991. The music group toured the U.S., launching the record Live (In Davis, CA) in 1992. By the end of the entire year, Turner and Light produced Dirty Three with violinist Warren Ellis; Light and Ellis also toured and documented using the Blackeyed Susans during this time period. Secher-Jensen produced the band Arrive the Silicone Pig, although Venom P. Stinger regrouped by the end of 1993. They released the one “Thick-skin”/”Tearbucketer” in August 1994, accompanied by their final record, Tear Bucket.
