London post-punk/Krautrock trio Venn began in 2013 when vocalist/drummer Ben Leverock and guitarist Stuart Gardham met while auditioning for any short-lived band that split just half a year later on when the other two members remaining to be electronica duo Change Function. Leverock and Gardham experienced become close friends and made a decision to continue operating together, merging their significant encounter: Leverock experienced previously documented as Esser, Gardham in Interiors and La Haine. They self-produced their debut EP, Echoes from Foreign Areas, and advertised it in unorthodox style by departing copies in arbitrary places (including HMV Oxford Road, the toilets of cultural club Soho Home, and on the grave of Jack port Kerouac in Lowell, Massachusetts) with an email inside requesting finders to get in contact. The stunt proved helpful, and buzz began to build-up around their dark, brooding, propulsive music, inspired by famous brands Cluster, Suicide, Liars, and Wire. The music group was finished in 2014 by adding keyboardist/bassist John Petrie, as well as the trio began to play gigs around London. That season Leverock also shaped electro-house duo Host. Early in 2016 he wedded and shifted to Berlin, but this didn’t prevent Venn, who continuing to collaborate online. That season they documented and released two well-received EPs, Runes EP and RUNE002LP, independently Rune label. Their developing popularity resulted in their putting your signature on by REGULAR Hobby, which released their debut full-length record, also entitled Runes, early in 2017.
