Velvet Hammer

Tribal rockers Velvet Hammer shaped in Houston, TX, in 1991 throughout the nucleus of singer/bassist Lynda Millard and singer/keyboardist Ginger Doss, who co-founded the group alongside guitarist Dana Davis and drummer Katrina Lassberg. The trio disbanded 2 yrs afterwards, with Millard and Doss relocating towards the Austin region and reuniting as DosMillard; by 1994, these were once again executing with Davis and Lassberg as Velvet Hammer, launching the album Reside in 1995. Lassberg once again still left the lineup immediately after and was changed by drummer Joel Duhon. 1997’s Storybook well balanced material dating back again to 1992 with newer recordings, and preceded the exits of both Davis and Duhon; DROP, recorded with brand-new drummers Tawnney and Nighthawk, implemented in 1999. Following a longer hiatus, the group came back to the studio room in 2007 for Someone Else’s Life.
