Oakland, California rapper Vellione (aka Vell/Vellqwan) tapped the noises of ’90s rap along with his stories of gritty road survival. Delivering pubs with a tone of voice similar to 2Pac over creation that recalled past due-’90s Dr. Dre, Vellione jumped from visitor slots on various other rappers’ mixtapes to his very own solo materials. Early singles like “The surface of the A.M.” (offering Ldf and Stevie Joe) and “Hennessy Don’t Help” (offering 4rAx) highlighted the production abilities from the Mekanix, who also continue to create his debut work, Stranded over the Wire (Livewire), that was released in past due 2016.
