Comprised of users Foster Calhoun — vocals/guitar, Alec Johnson — bass/vocals/keyboards, Gabe McCurdy — drums/vocals, and Scotti Fraser — guitar/vocals, San Francisco’s Vegas DeMilo focus on guitar-based alt rock and roll, melding the quirkiness of Guided By Voices using the riff rock and roll of Everclear. Founded by Calhoun and Johnson in 1997 (even though pair have already been playing collectively in rings since their teenage years), the recently formed outfit released their self-titled debut recording the same yr, adopted up by their sophomore work, ‘Before it Gets Aged,’ in March of 1999, which received local radio airplay in addition to accolades in Billboard, BAM, and Music Connection. Sept of 2001 noticed the discharge of Vegas DeMilo’s third launch general, ‘Motel California.’
