Various Blends

Alternative rappers Different Mixes were originally shaped in the SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA Bay Area in 1991, and contains MCs/producers Friz-B and Eb.F (both close friends from years as a child) and MC Rasco. They grew out of the previous group known as Children of 1 Future, which also included potential solo musician Saafir. In 1995, the trio released an area 12″ one, “Chill as I Flex,” but continued hiatus when Rasco departed to get a solo career the next year (he’d continue to record for Peanut Butter Wolf’s Rocks Throw label). For the time being, Eb.F DJed around the region beneath the name DJ Rasta Cue Suggestion, and he and Friz-B reconvened seeing that Various Mixes in 1999. With creation by both group people, aswell as Peanut Butter Wolf, and turntable efforts from DJ Serg, Different Blends finally released their initial full-length record, Levitude, on Baraka in past due 1999. It obtained favorable reviews because of its inventive, trippy creation, but not very much publicity. Baraka also released an instrumental edition of the record in 2000.
