Equally inspired simply by classic punk and retro girl group pop, Vancouver’s Vancougar was formed in 2003 simply by vocalist/guitarist Eden Fineday, bassist Becca Stewart, keyboardist Megan Johnson, and drummer CC Rose, also from the Pink Mountaintops. The next 12 months, the group self-released a demonstration CD that finished up garnering significant airplay on university r / c throughout Canada, aswell as acclaim from regional press and radio. This achievement led these to record at Vancouver’s Hive Innovative Labs studio room, where Vancougar cranked out their recognized debut recording, Losin’ It, in only four times. Losin’ It had been released by Scrape Information in early 2007, and its own hard-edged pop audio attracted enough hype to earn Vancougar a agreement with another Canadian label, Mint Information. After touring the U.S., Vancougar joined JC/DC Studios to record their 1st album around the Mint roster. Canadian Tuxedo eventually found its way to July 2008.
