Vague Angels

After leading indie rock and roll bands the Truck Pelt as well as the Lapse in the later ’90s, NY City’s Chris Leo (brother of Ted Leo and Danny Leo) formed Vague Angels, which initially began as several musicians who helped him record the album Truth Loved in 2004 because the fictitious band the Breaks from Leo’s first novel. Leo ultimately changed Vague Angels right into a complete band by adding songwriter Young-Ah Kim, guitarist/keyboardist Gary Keating, and drummer Patrick Brennan. The first genuine record from Vague Angels, Let’s Duke It Out at Kilkenny Katz, a stripped-down acoustic outing offering Leo’s poetic storytelling, premiered by Pretty Activity Information in springtime 2006 and coincides with Leo’s second reserve.
