Urszula Dudziak

The former wife of Polish jazz violinist Michal Urbaniak, Urszula Dudziak has generated her own legacy being a vocalist. Gifted using a four-and-a-half octave tone of voice, she was dubbed “jazz vocalist of the entire year” with the Los Angeles Moments in 1979. A regular collaborator from the past due Gil Evans in the 1980s, Dudziak’s performing was highlighted on Evans’ albums Live at Umbria Jazz ’87, documented on the Italian music celebration, and Last Program, documented with Sting. A highlighted vocalist for Archie Shepp, Lester Bowie, and Bobby McFerrin in the 1980s, she performed using the Vocal Summit Group along with Jay Clayton, Jeanne Lee, Bobby McFerrin, Norma Winstone, Michele Hendricks, and Lauren Newton in the first ’90s. She was a highlighted soloist for the Vienna Artwork Orchestra’s efficiency of “Artistry in Tempo — A Western european Collection” in 2000. Dudziak’s seven-year-long cooperation with Krzysztof Zawadzki’s music group, LEAVE, yielded four albums between 1987 and 1994. Dealing with Koledy Ur and Grazyna Auguscik in 1996, she documented an record of jazz interpretations of traditional Christmas carols. Learning piano and performing in her homeland because the past due ’50s, Dudziak became captivated by jazz after hearing a radio broadcast offering Ella Fitzgerald in 1959. Getting together with Urbaniak inside a short-lived jazz music group in 1965, she continuing to utilize the violinist within an electrical jazz music group the following 12 months.
