Urbie Green

An excellent jazz participant with a lovely tone that has spent the majority of his profession within the studios, Urbie Green is extremely respected by his fellow trombonists. He began playing when he was 12; was using the big rings of Tommy Reynolds, Bob Solid, and Frankie Carle mainly because an adolescent; and caused Gene Krupa during 1947-1950. Green experienced a stint with Woody Herman’s Third Herd, made an appearance on a number of the popular Buck Clayton jam classes (1953-1954), and was with Benny Goodman on / off during 1955-1957. He used Count number Basie in 1963, and spent an interval in the 1960s fronting the Tommy Dorsey ghost music group (1966-1967), but offers mostly trapped to studio function.
