Unnatural Helpers began as a music group of employees who worked in-house at Seattle’s iconic Sub Pop label. At its inception, the music group highlighted Matt Olsen, Sean Kelly, Jed Maheu, and Dean Whitmore. As the group advanced, it experienced a near continuous rotation of lineups, and by enough time of its debut, Whitmore was the just remaining primary member. In his off period with his various other bands Cleverness and Welcome, amongst others, the vocalist/drummer agreed upon with Hardly Artwork, who released the garage area rock-based Cracked Like & Other Medications. The record was recorded using the Fastbacks’ Kurt Bloch and released in Apr 2010. The group experienced more adjustments before buying a line-up of Whitmore (drums, vocals), Andrew Sullivan (bass), Johnnie Heinz (acoustic guitar), and Andrew Greager (acoustic guitar). This foursome documented the band’s second recording, working once again with Bloch, and in addition Eric Randall, in the combining desk. The effect was 2012’s Property Grab.
