Uh Huh Her

Perhaps most widely known in the role of Alice Pieszecki in Showtime’s The L Phrase, Leisha Hailey was also the girl in back of Uh Huh Her, an electro-pop duo that made some waves in the indie circuit following release of their debut album in 2007. Hailey, previously from the jangly, Indigo Girls-esque duo the Murmurs, made a decision to make a go back to the music biz carrying out a five season break; she was eventually presented to Mellowdrone bassist and keyboardist Camila Gray in early 2007 as well as the set strike it off. Billing themselves as Uh Huh Her (a mention of PJ Harvey’s chart-topping 2004 record), the duo holed up in Grey’s house in LA and documented their debut long-player, I Find Crimson. An ethereal affair that nodded towards the nocturnal, dance-oriented synth of serves like Metric and Ladytron while concurrently building on Hailey’s alt-rock root base, the disc premiered on Plaid afterwards that season. In August 2008, Uh Huh Her came back with Common Response on RCA.
