Uffie

With her girlishly playful yet stiff delivery, her raunchy lyrics, as well as the spare electro beats that surround them, Uffie draws comparisons to female MCs from the ’80s just like the ladies of L’Trimm and Salt-N-Pepa. Delivered Anna-Catherine Hartley in Miami, FL, Uffie shifted a whole lot during her years as a child, living in areas including Hong Kong and Fort Lauderdale; by enough time she was 15, she and her dad had resolved in Paris. She became mixed up in city’s dance music picture after dating DJ Feadz (whom she fulfilled when she booked him for a celebration). The set began producing music jointly and released their tracks via Uffie’s MySpace web page beginning in 2005. The next year her initial one, Pop the Glock/Prepared to Uff, was presented with a limited-edition discharge with the Arcade Setting label before among France’s most prominent dance brands, Ed Banger, distributed it even more broadly. The A-side was made by Feadz, as the B-side was made by Mr. Oizo, on whose “Fifty percent an Edit” Uffie made an appearance later that season. Scorching Chick/In Charge leaked to websites before its formal 2006 discharge, building the hype around her music and picture. In 2007 Uffie produced a cameo on Justice’s “Tthhee Ppaarrttyy,” which made an appearance on the debut album, Combination; contributed the tune “Dismissed” towards the Ed Banger compilation Ed Rec, Vol. 2; and released the 12″ one F1rst Like/Brand New Car. Her initial full-length record was anticipated in 2008.
