Tyro

Formed from the ashes from the eclectic indie-rock outfit Toenut, the Atlanta-based synth-pop duo Tyro features vocalist/keyboardist Katie Hartley and guitarist/keyboardist Skipper Hartley. After Toenut’s demise in the past due ’90s, the Hartleys holed up within their house studio and documented a lot of what would become Audiocards, Tyro’s debut record. After some last polishing and bass playing by Jason Hartley, Audiocards premiered by Mute — Toenut’s previous house — in fall 2000.
