Tweak Bird is definitely a collaboration between brothers Caleb (guitar, vocals) and Ashton Bird (drums, vocals), natives of Carbondale, Illinois (residential to Southern Illinois College or university), who performed together on / off over time before relocating to LA in the middle-2000s. Once there, they started molding an interesting sound comprising both contemporary (alternate, stoner, and post-rock, etc.) and traditional affects (’60 and ’70s psych, prog, and hard rock and roll), that they previewed with a set of 7″ singles before issuing 2008’s debut EP, Reservations, through Volcom Entertainment. After moving out on trips with Big Business and Device, the duo proceeded to go into the studio room with production group Deaf Nephews (offering Dale Crover from the Melvins and Toshi Kasai of Altamont), using their eponymous full-length arriving this year 2010. The music group hit the street using the Melvins in the summertime of 2012, with another EP, Undercover Plants, arriving later on that year.
