The older brother from the okay drummer Small Hall, Tubby Hall started playing in New Orleans using the Crescent Orchestra in 1914. After executing using the Eagle Music group, the Sterling silver Leaf Orchestra as well as other significant local groupings, Hall shifted to Chicago where he performed briefly with Lawrence Duhe’s music group in 1918 before getting drafted. After his release, Hall performed with Carroll Dickerson’s Orchestra for quite some time (documenting with it in 1927) and in addition worked at different times with Ruler Oliver, Tiny Parham and Boyd Atkins. His afterwards organizations included Louis Armstrong (documenting along with his big music group in 1931-32), Johnny Dodds and Jimmie Noone (producing records using the clarinetist in 1936 and 1940). In any other case Tubby Hall (who didn’t mind any record periods of his very own) freelanced and sometimes led his very own groups.
