Triste Janero

From Dallas, the past due-’60s quintet Triste Janero played rather out-of-fashion easy listening vocal music that skirted both softest boundary of pop/rock and roll, as well as the breezy, Brazilian vocal pop-jazz by famous brands Sergio Mendes. Their 1969 one, “Rene de Marie,” was popular in Dallas, plus they produced an obscure record for the Light Whale label that season. The group split up in 1970 or 1971, around once Light Whale was folding, with keyboardist Cass Moore heading to play with Dallas nation vocalist Sami Jo Cole.
