Triangle Harmony Boys

Also called the Alabama Harmony Boys, this seven piece Afro-American jazz band was located in Montgomery, AL. In July and August 1927 they produced a small amount of scruffy recordings which were issued around the Gennett and Silvertone brands. The instrumentation contains cornet, trombone, clarinet, saxophones, piano, banjo, and drums. The titles from the players possess all been overlooked apart from tenor saxophonist Murray Harper. Three of their uncommon recordings, “Canned Warmth Blues,” “Poultry Supper Strut,” and “Nice Patootie” have already been reissued around the Timeless/Jazz Oracle compilation Gennett Rarities.
