The ladies of alternative country trio Tres Chicas first came together through friendship along with a shared respect for every other’s singing in early 1999. Accomplished music artists and friends over time, Lynn Blakey (Glory Fountain, Let’s Energetic, Oh-OK), Caitlin Cary (Whiskeytown), and Tonya Lamm (Hazeldine) comprise the Raleigh, NC-based group whose music combines nice vocal harmonies with components of nation, folk, and rock and roll. They initial sang jointly publicly throughout a late-night spontaneous singalong after friend Alejandro Escovedo’s present in a Raleigh club, as well as the response uncovered that the gals had been to something particular. The moniker Tres Chicas finished up sticking following the nameless group was christened such with the club’s owner at their live debut.
