Named honoring a passage from Pauline Reage’s infamous novel THE STORYPLOT of O, the melancholy Trembling Blue Stars heralded the come back of singer/songwriter Robert Wratten, most widely known because the frontman from the Uk indie pop strap the Field Mice. Ostensibly a single task with significant insight from maker Ian Catt, Trembling Blue Celebrities originally emerged within the wake from the dissolution of North Picture Library, the task Wratten mounted following the demise from the Field Mice with then-girlfriend Annemari Davies; 1996’s Shinkansen label debut Her Handwriting explored the couple’s separation in heartbreaking lyrical fine detail, couching its elegiac tracks in airy, evocative acoustic guitar soundscapes.
