Ex – Shane Champagne and Green Cadillac singer David Champagne led the Massachusetts quartet Deal with Her Best, whose design encompassed rock and roll & move, rockabilly, blues-rock, and swamp-rock, all with post-punk attitude. Champagne also sported a flavor for avant-garde cover tracks, including materials by James Bloodstream Ulmer and Captain Beefheart. Deal with Her Best released its debut record in 1986; their 1989 Linked with the Tracks highlighted bassist Tag Sandman performing lead on many songs. Following breakup of Deal with Her Best, Sandman continued to create bass/sax/drums trio Morphine.
