Trakija Ensemble

The original dance music of Eastern Europe continues to be taken to the international stage from the Trakija Outfit or the Trakiya Outfit. Under the path of clarinet participant Ivo Papazov (created 1952), the group is constantly on the build a turbo-charged method of the marriage music from the Baltic area. Formed in the town of Plovdid in 1974, the Trakija Outfit represented the distributed eyesight of Papazov, accordion participant Nesho Neshev (blessed: 1954 in the southern Bulgarian community of Kurdzhali), and saxophonist Yuri Yunakov. Drummer Salif “Sasho” Ali (blessed 1964 in Kurdzhali) became a member of in 1980. Regardless of the group’s reputation, they suffered beneath the socialist federal government of Blugaria. In 1982, Papazov was accused of distributing anti-government propaganda and incarcerated for three weeks. Although he was planned to be delivered to a labor camp, a late-minute reprieve granted him independence. The Trakija Ensemble’s fortunes increased in the 1990s after a democratic federal government assumed control of Bulgaria. The group prolonged its impact during travels of Europe, THE UNITED STATES, and Australia. Following departure of Yunakov, who still left to pursue a single profession in 1995, the Trakija Outfit continued to execute being a trio. The initial quartet reunited in 1998 for an Australian tour.
