Wanting to breakdown the stereotypes that Christian rock bands appear to be Stryper, Ryan Clark (vocals/guitar), Morley (drums), Steve (bass), and Don Clark (guitar) dusted off their Slayer reports and formed Schooling for Utopia. Acquiring yet another cue from famous brands Unsane, Karp, and Meshuggah, TFU’s first EP, The Falling Routine, premiered in 1997, accompanied by Plastic material Spirit Impalement in 1998. Following a divide EP with Solid Condition lablemates Zao throughout that same calendar year, Schooling for Utopia had taken an alternative musical path and added components of techno/industrial with their 1999 full-length Throwing a Wrench in to the American Music Machine. Techie Difficulties made an appearance in Apr 2004. The Clark brothers afterwards went on to create the metal clothing Demon Hunter in Seattle.
