Tracy Thornton

Steel drum participant Tracy Thornton was created in NEW YORK and began executing like a drummer in age group 15 in the mid-’80s. In the beginning, he worked well as a typical drummer in such hard rock and roll bands as Spirit Society (documenting the album Right here MOST OF US [1990]) and Harmful Popsickle (Something to Suck On [1991], Close friends of Zid [1992]), aswell as the ska group Otis Reem (The Prophet [1999]). Steadily, he relocated toward other isle styles and various percussion tools. He used the reggae/calypso music group Trinidad North, and performed djembe and djun djun inside a Western African djembe drum primary known as Rhythms of Existence going by drum expert Kahlid Saleem. Embracing the steelpan or metal drum, Thornton documented his first single album, Steelin’ Xmas (1994), and founded the calypso/jazz group Been Captured Steelin’ (Been Captured Steelin’ [1996], Metal and Brass [1997]) and later on the metal drum music group Sons of Metal (Outta the Blue [1999], Carpe Diem [2000]). A self-taught musician, Thornton offers taught drumming thoroughly, utilizing what he phone calls his “drill and destroy to skill” technique. In 2002, he released his second single album, Simply Me and My Skillet, and in 2005, he adopted with Skillet for Punks: A Steelpan Tribute towards the Ramones.
