Toxic

Toxic is a “task” trio led by Polish saxophonist Mal Walerian, comprising himself, pianist Matthew Shipp, and bassist William Parker. Essentially, this group displays the saxophonist’s ongoing romantic relationship with Shipp as well as the ESP-Disk label. Their 1st recording was like a duo, Uppercut: Live at Okuden (2015); their second is at trio format with drummer Hamid Drake entitled Jungle: Live at Okuden (2016). Toxic’s THAT IS Gorgeous Because We Are Gorgeous People was documented in one day inside a Brooklyn, NY studio room in 2015 and released in the springtime of 2017.
