Tosca may be the collaboration between Richard Dorfmeister (from the trip-hop creation group Kruder & Dorfmeister) and fellow maker Rupert Huber. Documenting for K&D’s G-Stone label, the clothing released five lush studio room albums between 1997 and 2009, including Opera, Dehli9, no Hassle (apart from No Hassle, most of them highlighted vocal collaborations), and a group of remix compilations. Their 2013 work Odeon brought vocals back to the combine and was their initial record for the !K7 label. They stuck with the label for 2014’s Outta Right here but significantly jumped genres over the record, trading their traditional downtempo audio for a far more glittery edition of neo-disco. 2017’s Heading Going Going noticed Tosca time for their roots, providing a mercurial group of home, ambient, and funk-informed instrumentals.
