Toru Dodo

Jazz pianist Toru Dodo was created in Tokyo, Japan, on Feb 8, 1972, and started taking part in classical music in age four, hearing his talk about of Johann Sebastian Bach, Fryderyk Chopin, Gustav Mahler, Claude Debussy, Sergei Prokofiev, and Giacomo Puccini good into his teenage years. But he found out jazz in his research in the Meiji University or college in his hometown while also majoring in economics. Admitted affects on that end included Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, Kilometers Davis, and Joe Zawinul, aswell as Steve Reich and Japanese fusion symbols Ryuichi Sakamoto and Toru Takemitsu. Proving a superb college student and performer, Dodo graduated summa cum laude, and going for the energetic jazz picture in NEW YORK as the first choice of his trio with either bassist Reuben Rogers or Joseph Lepore and drummers John Lamkin or Rodney Green. Like a sideman, he offers performed and toured using the quartet of drummer Pete Zimmer and worked well alongside Kenny Garrett, Wallace Roney, Benny Golson, Curtis Fuller, Randy Brecker, Louis Hayes, Ruth Dark brown, Terumasa Hino, Rene McLean, Tom Harrell, Wayne Escoffery, Carl Allen, Delfeayo Marsalis, Robin Eubanks, Carolyn Leonhart, and Satoshi Inoue. His CDs have already been made by another Japanese tale, guitarist Yoshiaki Masuo. Dodo in addition has led the standard Sunday night time jam program at the brand new York Town nightclub Cleopatra’s Needle since 2002.
