Torres

Torres may be the executing pseudonym for introspective and vocally organic indie rock vocalist/songwriter Mackenzie Scott, a tribute to her grandfather’s surname. Elevated in Macon, Georgia, she started singing significantly in senior high school, executing in college musicals, performing in cathedral, and taking on your guitar. As an adolescent in ’09 2009, she transferred to Nashville to wait Belmont School. While completing her level, she documented her first record, the self-titled Torres, at vocalist/songwriter/guitarist Tony Joe White’s studio room in Franklin, Tennessee. The record was co-produced by Scott and Belmont alum Ryan McFadden and released in 2013. Though Torres didn’t make a direct effect commercially, Scott received interest in the music press for the songwriting maturity beyond her years. After comprehensive touring to aid the record, including opening areas for Hamilton Leithauser and Sharon Truck Etten, she made an appearance on Truck Etten’s 2014 LP Are We There? She relocated to Brooklyn on her behalf volatile second Torres record, Sprinter, that was documented in Dorset, Britain with manufacturer Rob Ellis (PJ Harvey, Marianne Faithfull) and released in 2015 on Partisan Information.
