Out of most of EPMD’s affiliates who broke out through the early ’90s, EXCELLENT was among the least successful, failing woefully to attain the type of recognition enjoyed by Keith Murray, Das EFX, Redman, as well as K-Solo. Magnum Opus, his 1993 recording for RCA, was made by EPMD’s Parrish “PMD” Smith and Charlie Marotta (EPMD, Das EFX, Redman).
