Brooklyn-based Puerto Rican freestyle DJ/producer Tony Touch continues to be an important force within the mixtape scene since 1991, crafting reggae, rap, house, R&B, and Latin underground tapes. Two of his tapes, “50 Emcess Parts 1 & 2,” gained Contact the annual Mixtape Honours’ Greatest Freestyles award 2 yrs within a row. Contact provides spun at night clubs in NY, Miami, and Puerto Rico, and it has toured with Master, the Roots, Unwanted fat Joe, and Big Punisher, amongst others, and created music by Flipmode Squad, Sunz of Guy, and Cocoa Brovaz. As an emcee, he spent some time working with P.F. Cuttin’ and DJ Muggs over the Rican-Struction EP. Contact also records beneath the brands Von Bo Bo, Mr. Coco Tosso, and Tony Toca, and it has released over 60 mixtapes, including Can’t Rest on the Roads and Power Cypha 3: The Grand Finale, most of them by himself Contact Entertainment imprint. In 1999, he agreed upon to Tommy Boy and released The Piece Machine in springtime 2000.
