Percussionist and songwriter Tony Mola offers helped to create the music of Bahia, circumstances in northeastern Brazil, to international interest. Regarding his 13-piece music group Bragada, Mola has generated a dance music that combines hip-hop and salsa affects with traditional samba and forro rhythms. The group was called Best New Music group at Carnaval 1998. A co-founder of Timbalada with Carlinhos Dark brown, Mola was surviving in NY when he shaped Bragada with people of the percussion ensemble that he aimed. Since time for Mola’s homeland in the first ’90s, the group offers continuing to explore what he phone calls a “fresh tribal music.” Mola’s biggest success like a songwriter arrived when he had written and organized a tune, “Feijao de Corda,” for Bahian vocalist Daniela Mercury’s chart-topping recording Feijão com Arroz.
