Tommy Drennan

Irish vocalist and pianist, Tommy Drennan was an eleven year back boy soprano when his rendition of “Oh, Holy Night time”, at Support St. Alphonsus Chapel, was documented in 1953. Stored within an aged suitcase for pretty much two decades, it had been restored by Drennan and documenting engineer, Ray Heraty, with another verse added. When the demonstration tape reached professionals at EMI, in Dublin, Drennan was summoned towards the documenting studio room, where he documented the brand new verse with an orchestra. Merging the outdated and brand-new recordings, an individual was released with time to capitalize in the Xmas period in 1972. An instantaneous strike, it spent five weeks near the top of the Irish music graphs. The achievement of “Oh, Holy Evening”, was just milestone in Drennan’s musical profession. Displaying skill at a age group, he sang between movies at Display Convent, at age ten. Delivered and elevated in Janesboro, Ireland, Drennan examined classical performing with Mrs. Baker. Relocating to Limerick, he sang using the Gilbert and Sullivan and Limerick Operatic Societies and examined on the city’s academy of music. Helping his meager income from music by doing work for a travel company, Drennan lobbied effectively for the transfer with their Dublin workplace. Reaching Jim Connolly, the movie director of the rural re-settlement task in State Clare, who acquired formed a music group, the Monarchs, with Ray Herarty, Bryan Meehan and Frank Hogan, Drennan discovered the musicians to create his music stand out. Through the eight years that they proved helpful together, Drennan as well as the Monarchs reigned among the best showbands in the Emerald Isle, launching such strike singles as “Boolavogue”, “The Guarantee And The Wish” and “Like Is A LOVELY Song”. Forming a fresh group, The Group, in 1972, Drennan changed his focus on the cabaret and corporate-function picture, four years afterwards.
