Tomcat Courtney

Blues guitarist/vocalist Tomcat Courtney was created in Marlin, TX, on January 22, 1929, and raised in Downsville, TX, where his dad, a ragtime piano participant, had a juke joint. He became a dancer and became a member of a circus display as an adolescent, starting to sing in the display. He relocated to Lubbock, TX, after Globe Battle II and became a prepare, meanwhile understanding how to play acoustic guitar. He performed roadhouses through the entire Southwest and resolved in NORTH PARK, CA, in 1971, where he started playing clubs many nights weekly, also appearing frequently in Phoenix, AZ. His initial recording came in the record NORTH PARK Blues Jam released by Development Information in 1974, and over time he pressed up his very own CDs to market at his gigs. In 2000, his tune “Tremble It Up Baby” made an appearance on the record I Better PROCEED… by Len Rainey & the Midnight Players. Agreed upon to Blue Witch Information, he produced his national documenting debut with Downsville Blues, released on, may 20, 2008, when he was 79 years of age.
