Tom O’Horgan

b. 3 Might 1926, Chicago, Illinois, USA. After graduating from DePaul College or university O’Horgan proved helpful in the theater and in NY in the first 60s was associated with many off-Broadway productions. Through the past due 60s onwards, he aimed some Broadway and off-Broadway smash strike musicals. His achievement began with Locks (1968), which went for 1, 742 shows and brought him a Tony Prize nomination as Greatest Director OF THE Musical. That same season saw him earn a Drama Table Award as Outstanding Movie director for Futz!; he also earned an prize for directing Tom Paine, and was called by Newsweek as Theatrical Movie director Of THE ENTIRE YEAR. In 1971 he aimed Lenny (1971), that he made up the incidental music and once again won a Episode Desk Honor as Outstanding Movie director. Another large musical success arrived when he published the publication for and aimed Jesus Christ Superstar (1971), music and lyrics by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Grain, which same 12 months he conceived, created and directed Internal City. Significantly less effective had been the musical, Dude (1972) as well as the play, The Leaf People (1975). He also conceived and modified for the stage a 1978 creation based on the Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Unhappy Hearts Club Music group.
