Tom Northcott

Tom Northcott began singing in 1963 in coffeehouses throughout the Vancouver area. Then produced the Tom Northcott Trio and performed in SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA in 1966; Warner Brothers afterwards agreed upon him and released an individual, “HEADING DOWN.” Northcott acquired achievement with three singles in the past due ’60s — the Dylan cover “Female in the North Nation” plus Harry Nilsson’s “1941” and “The Rainmaker” — and can be remembered for sunlight pop nugget “Who Planted Thorns in Miss Alice’s Backyard.” He constructed his own creation studio room in Vancouver in 1969, and released the LP Upside Drawback two years afterwards, but quit executing by 1973. In 1990, nevertheless, he released a return single, “THE DIFFICULTY with Like.”
