Tom Armstrong is a psych-folk musician located in Dallas (never to be confused using the San Francisco-based honky tonk nation artist from the same name). His music features elegant slip acoustic guitar, nimble fingerpicking, and elegiac melodies that attract from blues, folk, and rock and roll. Born and elevated in Elmhurst, Illinois, he performed in pubs and at open up mikes in the region before shifting to Dallas in 1984. Utilizing a four-track recorder that his wife bought him, he documented the dual LP The Sky Can be an Clear Attention in 1987. He released the recording himself by handing it out to different business affiliates and bar customers.
