Tolchard Evans

b. Sydney Edmund Evans, 1901, Harringay, London, Britain, d. 12 March 1978, London, Britain. Evans started his music profession being a silent film pianist. He continued to become conductor and prolific songwriter – getting responsible for one of the primary international song strikes from the 30s – ‘Female Of Spain’ (1931). Evans also got considerable achievement with ‘If’ and ‘My Sept Love’. Other significant functions included ‘Ballet Romantique’, ‘I’ll Sing To You’, ‘Somewhere Straight down In Brittany’, ‘Dreamy Devon’, ‘Valencia’, ‘40 Mil Churchills’, ‘There’s A PLEASANT Lake In London’, and ‘Ev’rywhere’ (created with Larry Khan) which earned Most Popular Tune at the initial Ivor Novello Prize wedding ceremony in 1955.
