Despite his own solo successes, Tobin Sprout will most likely always be referred to as the onetime four-track wizard and songwriting sidekick to Robert Pollard in Ohio’s lo-fi pop kings Guided by Voices. Though much less prolific than his manager, followers of the group had been quick to observe Sprout’s amazing songcraft.
