As an associate of psychedelic/electronic indie pop outfit Dark Moth Super Rainbow, enigmatic Pennsylvania-based designer Cigarette casts summery spells with analog synths and tape devices. As a single artist, Tobacco uses lots of the same designs and strategies that energy his use the music group, but having a darker, even more fractured advantage. Integrating components of hip-hop, electro, and experimental rock and roll, he released his full-length debut recording, Fucked Up Close friends, over the Anticon label in 2008. His following foray in to the single realm came this year 2010 using the discharge, also on Anticon, of Maniac Meats. The record featured visitor vocals from Beck, and also a lot of odd noises. Tobacco held busy another few years, showing up on a Dark Moth Super Rainbow record (Cobra Juicy) in 2012, remixing Light Zombie’s “Thunder Kiss ’65,” and making Demon Queen’s Exorcise Tape record. After jumping to Ghostly International, Cigarette released his third single record, Ultima II Therapeutic massage, in 2014. Following its discharge, he began focusing on another record but soon strike an innovative wall structure. He stepped from music, heading as far as to spend a whole calendar year without plugging in virtually any of his equipment, but with length he rediscovered his musical spark. His following record emerged quickly and noticed him reverting to a vintage technique of documenting monitors on cassette and dropping them on the sampler. Sweatbox Dynasty was the effect, and it had been released by Ghostly in August of 2016.
