Afro-Cuban singer Tito Gómez was nicknamed Tito by regional musician Miguelito Valdés. In 1938, José Antonio Tenreiro Gómez emerged in initial place after taking part in a Cuban competition, known as La Corte Suprema del Arte (Supreme Artwork Court), signing up for Sevilla Biltmore Orquestra immediately after. In 1939, Gómez began performing for Orquesta Riverside, having his breakthrough after documenting the strike “Vereda Tropical,” constructed by Mexican Gonzalo Curiel. Through the ’70s, he effectively participated in an organization known as Orquesta Jarrín.
