Tiny Ruins

Tiny Ruins are an indie folk trio located in Auckland, New Zealand. The music group name was initially adopted by vocalist/songwriter Hollie Fullbrook in ’09 2009 on her behalf solo task, but eventually continued to add bassist Cass Basil and drummer Alexander Freer. Fullbrook’s initial discharge as Tiny Ruins was a 2010 collaborative EP with Spanish folk musician A Vocalist of Songs known as Little Records. Her debut LP, Some Had been Meant for Ocean, followed in-may 2011. The album’s extra, haunting songs have got roots in traditional United kingdom folk and American blues. Fullbrook’s debut was well-received critically and resulted in tours with set up indie works like Calexico, Seaside Home, and Fleet Foxes in the U.S., European countries, and Australia. With Basil and Freer today fully built-into the music group, Tiny Ruins go about documenting a follow-up LP back their hometown of Auckland. A six-song assortment of old demos and rarities entitled Haunts made an appearance in Apr 2013, and a year afterwards the group’s sophomore LP, Brightly Painted One, premiered. Building on the minimalist sound, the refined addition of horns, strings, and body organ filled the sound of the next album.
