Tim Richards Trio

b. 23 June 1952, London, Britain. As a kid, Richards took traditional piano lessons but at age 14, after hearing Thelonious Monk and Otis Spann, he trained himself jazz and blues piano. In 1979, Richards created Soul Level in Bristol, with Paul Dunmall (tenor saxophone), Paul Anstey (bass), and Tony Orrell (drums). In 1982, the music group won first reward in the Dunkirk Jazz Celebration in France, attained recognition and achievement and its workers remained remarkably steady for ten years. By the end from the 80s, a re-formed Heart Level included Jerry Underwood (tenor saxophone), Tag Sanders (drums), and Andy Cleyndert (bass; afterwards changed by Ernest Mothle). A middle-90s version from the music group, that maintained Underwood and included Pete Kubryk Townsend (bass) and Kenrick Rowe (drums), toured throughout European countries. In 1988, Richards experienced created a trio, with bass participant Townsend and drummer Rowe. Later on trio members consist of Dominic Howles (bass), and Andrea Trillo and Matt House (drums). Also in 1988, Richards became a member of Otis Grand’s Dance Kings, touring Western club and event venues and documenting Always Sizzling in 1988. He also made an appearance with guitarist Joe Louis Walker. In 1993, Richards created a quintet, the London Blues Music group, including Jon Taylor (acoustic guitar) and Brian Iddenden (tenor saxophone). In the mean time, Richards also founded an ongoing operating romantic relationship with Austrian saxophonist Sigi Finkel. This started in 1996 with two duo times for BBC Radio 3 and was accompanied by information and UK and Western trips. Richards and Finkel will also be co-leaders of Soundscape, another members of the quartet becoming Phil Scragg (bass) and Marc Parnell (drums). In 1998, Richards toured European countries with guitarist Larry Garner, and caused vocalist Kate Zaitz aka Q Bee. Furthermore to his functionality schedule, Richards in addition has been energetic in education for just two years, teaching jazz piano, blues piano and improvisation at several centres including London’s Goldsmiths University and Morley University.
